Inject a little bohemian glamour into your wardrobe with the Nicks Dress + Blouse. In multiple variations with soft gathering and delicate details, it's satisfying to make and a pleasure to wear.

All views feature a loose-fitting V-necked bodice with a gently gathered shoulder and yoke. The slightly puffed sleeve is gathered at the shoulder; choose between a short sleeve, or a long sleeve with wrist pleats for shaping and an elastic gathered cuff. You may also choose between two interchangeable neckline finishes: a simple facing, or a bias-bound neckline with delicate rouleau button loops and buttons. View A is a button-front dress with a comfortable elastic waist, long or short sleeves, and three gathered skirt tiers. View B is a voluminous swing tunic with a gathered hip tier and long or short sleeves. View C is an elegant blouse with a faced neckline and long or short sleeves.

SUGGESTED FABRIC

The Nicks Dress + Blouse shines in a variety of light to midweight wovens with moderate drape. We suggest the following:

  • For a flowy and ethereal effect, try: rayon challis, viscose, silk crepe, chiffon, charmeuse, or georgette
  • For more body, try: cotton shirting, batiste, voile, chambray, or linen

Bob woven pants Had to redraft

The quality of the paper was excellent.
I don't know about the smaller sizes, but the larger ones were not like the picture. They ballooned out like crazy from the top and didn't seem drafted for the proportion changes that come with larger size. I could have put on my wig and nose, hopped on a unicycle and had a day under the big top.
Lucky I did a test fit with calico.

I had to do a tiny full derrière adjustment as the back crotch length was just a little shy.

I took huge amounts out of the top and top leg to bring them back to the gentle curve in the picture that seems like it should curve out most in the mid and lower leg area. I also had to redraft the bottom leg and ankle somewhat - it was way too wide.

It ended up being good, but the amount of work required to get them right was prodigious. I could have just drafted them from scratch to be honest, with the amount of work. I'm reluctant to try other larger sizes patterns from here now, not for me!
