This linen is a basketweave fabric - a variation on a plain weave with two warp yarns crossing alternately with two weft yarns creating a fabric that resembles a plaited basket. This weave is more pliable than a plain weave of similar weight but has a looser weave and can fray more easily. The fabric has a lustrous finish and has a strong drape. It will make stunning homewares and could be used for pulled thread work.
